Wuchang Fish

  Wuchang fish gets its name from the three kingdoms period. It became famous after Mao Zedong’s famous poem: before drinking in Hunan, now have a taste of Wuchang Fish in Hubei in 1958.

Authentic Wuchang fish (bream) is living in the Yangtze River Fankou, learning called megalobrama amblycepha-la, the authentic Wuchang fish should has thirteen and half fish bones.

The most welcome cooking method is: supplemented with ham, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, chicken, chicken soup and a dozen ofother ingredients. The most famous restaurant, Greater China Restaurant, is locatedin the Wuchang Peng Liu Yang Road. Nowadays, some of the local restaurants also serve good Wuchang Fish dishes.
